Karachaganak Petroleum Operating (KPO) is firmly committed to the global energy transition and has set an ambitious target to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050. As a responsible Kazakhstan refinery, we are actively implementing a comprehensive decarbonisation strategy that covers all aspects of our operations at the Karachaganak field.
This long-term commitment includes significant investments in energy efficiency improvements, deployment of advanced low-carbon technologies, optimisation of gas flaring reduction, and increased utilisation of associated gas. We are also exploring opportunities in carbon capture, utilisation and storage (CCUS), integration of renewable energy sources where feasible, and continuous enhancement of our environmental monitoring systems.
